# E4 Youth E4 Youth engages communities through culture, educates through creativity, empowers through storytelling, and elevates voices into leadership, opportunity, and legacy. E4 Youth is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Austin, Texas. The organization connects young people, educators, community members, culture bearers, creative professionals, funders, and civic partners through culturally grounded creative learning, storytelling, public engagement, and supported professional exposure. ## Organization Method The Four E's are E4 Youth's organization-wide method. They are not separate departments, program buckets, or a required sequence. 1. Engage communities through culture, belonging, relationships, and access. 2. Educate through creativity, research, communication, identity, and storytelling skills. 3. Empower through voice, agency, contribution, responsibility, and supported practice. 4. Elevate voices into leadership, opportunity, public presence, and legacy. The flexible youth pathway is Story to Skill to Opportunity to Leadership. Participants may enter at different points. Not every participant follows every step. The community pathway is Connect to Contribute to Shape to Preserve. Community members are knowledge holders, participants, reviewers, creators, and stewards, not simply sources for youth projects. ## Canonical Pages - [Home](https://www.e4youth.org/): Overview of E4 Youth's mission, method, current work, pathways, evidence, and relationship to WOW and What Once Was. - [About](https://www.e4youth.org/about): Organization, mission, approach, and the distinction among E4 Youth, the WOW Heritage Center, and What Once Was. - [Our Work](https://www.e4youth.org/our-work): Verified FY26-27 program portfolio with visible status labels, timing, audience, format, and availability. - [The Four E's](https://www.e4youth.org/four-es): The organization-wide method: Engage, Educate, Empower, Elevate. - [Impact](https://www.e4youth.org/impact): Impact and evidence connected to learning, agency, opportunity, community participation, and stories preserved with consent and context. - [Stories](https://www.e4youth.org/stories): Participant and community stories connected to E4 Youth work. - [WOW Heritage Center](https://www.e4youth.org/wow-heritage-center): E4 Youth's physical and public home for learning, storytelling, and community engagement. - [Partner](https://www.e4youth.org/partner): Partnership pathways for educators, community organizations, creative professionals, employers, funders, and culture bearers. - [Donate](https://www.e4youth.org/donate): Individual giving and community partnership support. - [Contact](https://www.e4youth.org/contact): Contact information, inquiry form, and optional email-updates opt-in. - [Funders](https://www.e4youth.org/funders): Information for institutional supporters and grantmakers. - [Blog](https://www.e4youth.org/blog): Articles and updates from E4 Youth. ## Program Status Labels - Current: operating now. - Scheduled: delivery period or dates are set. - Pilot: testing and learning. - Proposed: dependent on confirmation. - In development: not yet open. - Future direction: intentionally deferred. ## Current Work Areas and Programs ### Cultural Storytelling Education [Cultural Storytelling Education](https://www.e4youth.org/our-work/cultural-storytelling-education) helps young people explore Austin history through people, newspapers, photographs, and neighborhoods while learning to ask better questions and tell stories with care. - [Black Austin: The Gold Dollar](https://www.e4youth.org/our-work/black-austin-gold-dollar): Scheduled fall November-December workshop where elementary and middle school students examine Jacob Fontaine, The Gold Dollar, archival images, journalism, and the 5 Ws. - [Latinx Austin: La Crónica](https://www.e4youth.org/our-work/latinx-austin-la-cronica): Spring pilot where elementary and middle school students explore Latinx Austin through archival images, discussion, creative activities, and feedback that will shape the next version of the workshop. ### Creative Leadership & Career Pathways [Creative Leadership & Career Pathways](https://www.e4youth.org/our-work/creative-leadership-career-pathways) helps young people and emerging creatives understand their strengths, develop portfolios and professional identities, practice communicating the value of their work, and learn from working professionals. - [Get Creative!
